For my paternal grandmother, Lillian Novello, born May 22, 1901:
Happy 100th birthday, dear Nona! I know how you loved your grandchildren, and they love you just as much. I’ll never forget the way you cried with joy when you last saw my sister and me. I just wish I could have spent more time with you, but it was hard when we lived a country’s span apart. I grieve for the difficult circumstances you lived in at the end, with your daughter who refused to let us see you. I pray you are happy at at peace in the arms of God. Please feel free to talk to me anytime you wish. I will receive you with joy.
I name and honor you, Nona, every week in my Akhu Shrine. May Netjer grant you all good things upon which a spirit might live. Ma’a heru. [henu]
Your loving granddaughter,
Ginette
