You may notice that the goal has been raised for this month. This is because an unexpected bill from the city of Joliet (where Tawy House is) set us back quite a bit. All Zelle funds were used to pay for the storage bill for this month. Please consider donating anything you can manage to help us bounce back from this! No donation is too small!
As is our new normal, all funds will be diverted to the savings account at the end of the month. April’s donations are slated for use in July.

State of the Accounts
Right now, the House bank account has less than $50.00 in it. Donations have sharply declined since the announcement of the Salary Guarantee for Hemet (AUS), and an unexpected bill from the City of Joliet (where Tawy House is, for those new to us) set our finances back by about $500. This Guarantee was never meant to be a long-standing agreement, only as a means to adjust how and when the House uses its donations during any given month.
The situation is more dire than ever. As it stands now, the Temple is in imminent danger of not being able to pay its bills, which would have heavy consequences. Besides not being able to pay Hemet (AUS) what the House has promised for her time and work, we could lose the storage units we have, which are filled with priceless pieces of our history; we could lose the website and the forum, where our community is based; we could lose the Chase bank account entirely due to lack of good standing, which would leave the House no way to pay either its bills or Hemet (AUS).
The Executive Board and the Fundraising Team understand completely that times are hard for everyone, and a lot of people were saving for the Gathering event in Ohio. We know that fundraising and finances are branches of the temple that are often overlooked. It is a reality of the temple that we need these branches to help the House continue into the future. This is why we are trying to be as transparent with our situation as possible, though it may seem alarming. It requires everyone’s help to keep things going. Even in the times that seem plentiful we know that there will come times where there may be a drought. Please continue to invest in our community, in our shared history, and our future as a temple so that we can all continue to support the work of the House as well as the support it gives the community. No donation is too small, and everyone’s help is needed and appreciated beyond words.
I apologize for the late update for the end of April! Between the Ohio Gathering and returning to work a couple days later, I’ve been frightfully busy.
